The Blood fountain
The fountain in the home courtyard - its three tabs, what each one is for, and where to read more.
The Blood fountain stands in the home courtyard. It is where blood money and spare gear turn into something permanent, and nearly everything it does happens in one window with three tabs.
Using it
The fountain has two right-click options:
- Commune opens the window on its Pacts tab. Once you own the root pact, communing also restores your hitpoints, prayer and run energy in full.
- Tithe opens the window on its Tithe tab.
Using an item on the fountain goes straight to the right place: a piece it will tithe is quoted and asks whether to tithe it, and a piece it can soak asks whether to dip it. Nothing on the Tithe or Soak tabs works from a distance - you have to be standing at the fountain.
The three tabs
| Tab | What it does | Paid with | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pacts | A tree of 27 permanent account perks across six branches | Blood money | Blood Pacts |
| Tithe | Destroys spare boss gear for vitae, fills the world's meter, climbs the Tithe ladder | Gear | Blood Tithe |
| Soak | Stains a piece of gear in blood for a few extra stats, for a limited number of uses | Vitae, then blood money | Blood soaks |
Pacts
A pact is bought once and kept for good. The root pact costs 10,000 blood money and opens the tree. After that, each pact needs its parent. Blood Pacts covers every branch and the pacts worth buying first.
Tithe
The fountain takes a hand-picked list of boss gear and destroys it for vitae. Every vitae you earn also fills a meter shared by the whole world, which overflows into a two-hour world boost. Your lifetime vitae climbs the Tithe ladder, and from Bloodsworn on each tithe has a chance to turn up the Blood phoenix pet. Vitae buy booster scrolls at the fountain's counter and unlock the blood soaks. Blood Tithe has the full list, the ladder and the pet odds.
Soak
A soaked piece gains 2 to every bonus it already has and cannot be traded. It dries back into the plain item after 10,000 uses, or if you lose it on a death. Each family is unlocked once with vitae, then each dip costs blood money. Blood soaks lists the families and what each one costs.
Commands
::tithe- your vitae, rank, the world meter and how far off the next overflow is.::commune- the fountain's restore from anywhere outside the Wilderness, once you own the Fountain's Reach pact.
