The Inferno

Sixty-nine waves for one cape, the three rocky supports, and TzKal-Zuk at the end.

The Inferno is the longest single fight in the game: sixty-eight waves of TzHaar in a private copy of the arena, then TzKal-Zuk. Nobody can crash it and nothing can be brought in that you did not walk in with.

Getting in

::inferno, or the Bosses row in the teleport window. There is no scroll and no requirement - the fight is the gate. Death is safe and costs you the run.

The rocky supports

Three pillars stand in the arena: north, south and west, at 255 hitpoints each. The nibblers do not attack you, they attack the supports, and if all three fall the run is over. A collapsing support kills the nibblers next to it, and any still standing come down on their own at wave 67.

Defending them is most of what the early waves are about.

The waves

Sixty-eight of them, in the real Old School order. Wave 67 is a single JalTok-Jad; wave 68 is three at once. A Jad summons Yt-HurKot healers below half health - five on wave 67, three per Jad on wave 68 - and they have to be dealt with or the fight resets itself.

TzKal-Zuk

1,200 hitpoints, seven tiles across, and a typeless attack that goes through prayer. The shelter is the fight: a shield patrols in front of him and the only safe place is behind it, so the whole encounter is a walk that never stops.

He sets waves of his own on the way down, and at 240 hitpoints he enrages - faster attacks, and four Jal-MejJak that heal him fifteen to twenty-five every four ticks until you hit them, at which point they turn on you.

The reward

The Infernal cape on the first clear, tokkul, and a one in a hundred roll on the pet.
