Blood Tournaments

An automated player-versus-player bracket every hour, fought on a fixed loadout, with nothing at risk.

A tournament runs from home on the hour, every hour, with no host and no sign-up thread. Everybody who joins is given the same gear, so it is a fight about how you play rather than what you own.

Joining

::tourny opens the window: the clock, the current prize, the loadout, the stage and the entrant list, plus Join, Leave and the points shop. The Tournament Manager at home and the blood portal do the same, and the portal joins directly while sign-ups are open.

The quest tab's World Events panel carries the same clock, so you can see the next opening without opening anything.

What is at risk

Nothing. The tournaments that run here are safe: your own inventory is put away, you are issued the bracket's preset, and you get all of it back on the way out.

Staff tools are switched off inside a bracket for everybody, owner included, so nothing can be conjured while a fight is live.

Being knocked out

A gladiator who loses stays in the arena as a ghost, and anybody can spectate. That is deliberate: a bracket with four people in it is worth watching, and a spectator who leaves the moment they die is a bracket with nobody in it.

Points

Placing pays tournament points, which are permanent and spent at the tournament counter:

The counter is also where the tournament mystery box lives, having moved off the champion's prize so that everybody who places can reach it.
