Blood money and what it buys
The combat currency: where it comes from, what it is priced against, and the four things worth saving for.
Blood money is the currency the whole combat half of the game is priced in. Coins pay for supplies and gear you can buy; blood money pays for the things you unlock.
Where it comes from
- Every boss kill. The payment scales with the boss, and a kill taken on a Blood Slayer task pays more than the same kill taken off task.
- Bounty Hunter. Killing your assigned target pays blood money and grows a killstreak, and a Mysterious emblem upgrades as it goes. Repeat kills on the same victim decay to nothing, so it is paid for real fights only.
- The Wilderness key chests, which pay coins, blood money and consumables and never gear.
- Daily tasks, some of which pay it directly.
What it buys
The Emblem Trader's counter is the main door. It is where the imbued rings and capes, the Void set, the Avernic defender hilt, the rune pouch and the Bounty target teleport all come from, and where the four raid scrolls sit.

The four raid scrolls
Each of the four raids is locked behind a one-shot untradeable scroll at 50,000 blood money, read once per account and never needed again. It gates the door, never the drops: nothing on a raid's reward table is for sale.
At the rate a boss trip pays, one scroll is a long stretch of play and all four are a season of it. That is the point - the raids pay the best tables in the game and were the only content an account could walk into on its first minute.
The blood fountain
The other large sink is the pact tree at the fountain in the home courtyard: twenty-seven permanent perks bought with blood money, and roughly three and a half million to own all of them. Every pact is permanent, account-wide and can never be lost.
What blood money is not
It is not a second set of coins. Nothing converts one into the other, and no shop will buy an item back for blood money - the General Store pays coins and only coins. So a large blood money pile has exactly the uses listed above, and hoarding it past the last scroll and the last pact buys nothing.
