The Bestiary
Every boss's drop table, its odds per kill, its combat stats and your own kill count - on one screen, opened from anywhere.
::drops opens the Bestiary. So do ::bestiary, ::bosslist and ::droptable, the Knowledge Centre row on the account tab, the Drops option on a row of the Teleports window, and examining any boss in the world.
It is one screen for the question "what does this thing drop, and how often". The left rail is every boss in the game; the right half is whichever one you picked.
The rail
Rows are grouped by where the boss lives - Wilderness, God Wars, Raids, Slayer bosses, Instanced lairs, World bosses, Other - and each row says which under its name. Type to search: the box matches names and nicknames, so "sire", "olm", "cox", "dks" and "phos" all land where you expect.
The Drops page
The drop table is a grid of item icons under a heading per section - the uniques, the common table, the things a kill always pays. Under each icon is how often you get it per kill.
That last word is the change worth knowing about. A kill rolls the drop table one to three times depending on the boss, so the old window's "1/128" was the chance per roll rather than per kill, and the number a player actually wanted was never on screen. The Bestiary folds the rolls in: what it prints is the chance that a kill gives you that item at least once.
A cell is 48 pixels wide and some rates do not fit in it, so every cell carries its own menu:
- Examine prints the whole line in your chat box - the full name, the quantity and the unshortened rate.
- Wiki opens that item's page in your browser.
The Info page
The Info tab reads the boss's own definition, so nothing on it is typed out by hand and nothing can go stale:
- Combat level, hitpoints and how many tiles it stands on.
- Max hit, how often it attacks, and whether it comes to you.
- What it attacks with, and which protection prayer answers it.
- Its Attack, Strength, Ranged and Magic levels.
- Whether a bane weapon reads it as undead, a demon, a dragon or a kalphite, and whether poison and venom do anything to it at all.
Under that, its defence: five bars, one per attack style, drawn against each other rather than against a fixed scale. The shortest bar is the style it defends worst against, and it is drawn in green - that is the one to bring. The number beside each bar is the raw defence bonus.
A handful of entries are fights the server scripts without an npc of their own - a raid's reward chest, for instance - and those say so rather than printing a page of zeroes.
Your own numbers
The header under the boss's name is yours, not the boss's: how many you have killed, your best kill time, and how much of its collection log page you have filled. A finished page turns green.
Three buttons sit under the drop table, and only the ones that lead somewhere are drawn:
- Collection log opens that boss's page.
- Teleport takes you to it, with the same confirmations and requirements the Teleports window applies.
- Wiki opens the boss's page in your browser.
What it does not show
The rare drop table is still hidden, and nothing here tells you how to fight anything - that is what the Wiki button is for.
