Blood Pacts

The fountain's twenty-seven permanent perks, what each branch does, and the ones to buy first.

The blood fountain in the home courtyard is a permanent perk tree bought with blood money. Twenty-seven pacts across six branches, and none of them can ever be lost - a pact is not an item, it is a fact about your account.

Communing

Left-click the fountain to open the tree. Communing at it fully restores hitpoints, prayer and run energy, which alone makes it worth walking past on the way out.

The root pact costs 10,000 blood money and unlocks the tree. After that a pact can only be forged if its parent already is, so each branch is walked outwards rather than cherry-picked, and four pacts also need a specific pact from a different branch entirely.

Owning the whole tree is roughly three and a half million blood money.

The six branches

  • Wrath - damage against monsters: melee damage, envenoming, defence-ignoring accuracy, a rare instant kill on something nearly dead, and a floor under every hit you land.
  • Vitality - staying alive and staying out: healing off your own hits, Redemption topping you up, and the blessings the fountain grants when you commune.
  • Ward - damage taken, prayer drain, and unlimited run energy in the Wilderness.
  • Fortune - convenience and ammunition: payouts straight to your bag, ranged ammunition that sometimes is not used, and ::bank from anywhere.
  • Hunt - the boss branch: damage reduction against bosses, special attack energy regenerating twice as fast against one, and a combat surge on a boss kill.
  • Avarice - the money branch, ending in a flat bonus on every chase roll in the game.

The ones worth buying first

  • Bloodletter's Greed is the cheapest real quality-of-life pact: boss blood money goes straight into your inventory instead of onto the floor.
  • Sanguine Ferry gives you ::bank from anywhere outside the Wilderness, which changes how every trip is packed.
  • Fountain's Reach gives you ::commune from anywhere outside the Wilderness on a half-hour timer, so the fountain's restore and its blessings travel with you.
  • Crimson Fortune is the tree's most expensive pact and the only one that improves every drop rate you will ever roll.

What they cost you

Nothing but blood money. There is no upkeep, no charge and no way to lose a pact, and the indexes they are stored under never move - a pact added later is appended, so nothing already forged is ever invalidated.
