the Revenant Caves and the Bloat

The Revenant Caves are open under the Wilderness, ported from OSRS with the whole ether economy behind them, and the Theatre of Blood now starts at the Pestilent Bloat instead of dropping you in front of Verzik. The Blood Pacts board has five more pacts on it, the Teleports window has been rebuilt around a task band and a live event button, and ::players is a proper screen. Mining and protection prayers both run on OSRS's own timings now.
Highlights
- The Revenant Caves - OSRS's caves, under Wilderness levels 17 to 40: a 100,000 coin entrance fee, the pillar shortcuts, eleven revenants on their own table, and revenant ether to charge the Wilderness weapons with.
- The Pestilent Bloat - the Theatre of Blood door opens on the Bloat, with a supply chest to spend raid points at before you walk on to Verzik.
- Blood Pacts - five new pacts take the tree to 32 nodes, and the board drags sideways so the whole of it is reachable.
- A rebuilt Teleports window - a band across the top for your Slayer task, home and your last destination, a LIVE button while a world boss is up, and each boss row's three most valuable drops.
- Who's online - ::players is a searchable screen with All, Staff, Players and Donators tabs, rather than a list in the chatbox.
- Account types combine - an ironman type and an experience type can be taken together, ticked as checkboxes on the account screen.
New content
- The Revenant Caves - three ways in from the Wilderness, a 100,000 coin fee that a death inside clears (and pays to whoever killed you), five pillar jumps from 65 Agility upwards, and eleven revenants from the imp to the dragon. They pay no blood money: it is OSRS's table, so ether and artefacts, with the amulet of avarice and the three (u) weapons as the uniques.
- Revenant ether - the Wilderness weapons are charged items now. A bow or sceptre will not fire without usable ether and a chainmace swings as a plain mace; a chisel on an emblem, totem, statuette, medallion, effigy or relic pays 1,000 up to 32,000 ether, and Uncharge hands it all back. Every source drops the (u) form, and anything you already held charged was topped up once.
- The bracelet of ethereum - holds 16,000 ether, cuts revenant damage to a quarter at one ether a hit, and makes every revenant tolerant of you while it is charged.
- The Pestilent Bloat - 2,000 hitpoints at five raiders, walking its lap of the room and dropping flies on anyone it can see, with a stomp for anyone stood beside it and flesh raining once it is under 90%. It takes half damage while it walks and full while it is down, and a raider who falls is caged until the kill.
- The supply chest - stocked from your raid points at the end of the Bloat room, and good for one stamina per raider.
- Blood Pacts 28 to 32 - Ceaseless Charge and Ceaseless Charge II save charges on weapons and then on gear, Ceaseless Runes keeps a combat spell's runes one cast in ten, Bottomless Flask keeps a dose, and Bloodied Strike gives back half the special energy you just spent.
- Pacts in a tournament - every pact is now off inside a Blood Tournament. Four of them used to apply.
- Watson - stands in the home bank and trades a hard clue scroll, an elite clue scroll and 1,000,000 coins for a master scroll box.
- Herb tar - five herbs, a pestle and mortar and 15 swamp tar a set. With a knife on teak or mahogany, it is the mining tick manipulation OSRS has.
- Ring of suffering (i) - the imbued and recoil-imbued rings are on the blood money counter at 15,500 apiece plus the plain ring.
- The revenants Slayer task - counts any revenant now, cave or blood or the maledictus, and makes the cave unique five times as likely while you are on it.
- Support - a new staff badge with no tools of its own and a blue crown in chat.
- Account types combine - six pairs: an ironman type with Trained, Realism or Realism (Extreme). The account screen's rows are checkboxes with a Confirm bar, one tick per column, and a combined hardcore death falls back to the same experience type.

Combat and balance
- Protection prayers - a monster's attack is checked against the overhead you have up on the tick it swings, so a prayer clicked on during the swing counts and one dropped just before the hit lands still blocks. Jad, JalTok-Jad and the Maggot King still read it when the hit arrives.
- Prayer drain - a tick charges you only if a prayer was up both before and after it, so a one-tick flick is free.
- Monster attacks land with their projectile - a ranged shot lands when the projectile arrives rather than on a fixed count, and a spell that splashes draws no hitsplat and no grunt. Tok-Xil and the Dark wizards have their own attacks and sounds.
- Revenants fight one at a time - only a player can take a fight off a monster in a singles-plus area, so a second revenant no longer joins the first. A boss's minions still pile in with their boss.
- Singles-plus zones - the three Wilderness boss caves and the Wilderness Agility Course: a PKer takes the fight off a monster, one at a time, and the sword-and-plus icon shows it.
- Callisto's boulder - a ranged attack now, so it rolls against your ranged defence and hurts instead of landing zeros.
- Mining - on OSRS's clock. Your pickaxe sets how often you roll, bronze every eight ticks down to three for rune and dragon, and your level sets the chance of each roll. There is no roll the moment you arrive, iron respawns in nine ticks, and a re-click never restarts the wait.
- Revenant ether drops - three times the wiki rate, because a rev weapon could not be kept charged at the wiki's own.
- Run energy in raids - drains in a raid as it does in the Wilderness, so kiting and repositioning cost something. Endless Vein covers both.
- Blood maledictus loot - the top damage dealer takes an ancient emblem or totem and two rolls on the revenant dragon's table, and everyone else a blighted super restore and two blighted manta rays. The blood money purse is unchanged.
- Wilderness weapons - the +50% against monsters in the Wilderness needs usable ether.
- Stat restore - restore and boost decay run on a steady cycle counted from login and saved with you, and hitpoints start regenerating a minute after you log in rather than on your first tick.
- Blighted sacks - the teleport sack pays for Tele Block and Teleport to Target, and the vengeance sack pays for Vengeance. Both drop in the caves and neither paid for anything.
- Blighted manta ray and super restore - can be eaten and drunk in the Wilderness, like the anglerfish and the karambwan. A click did nothing before.
- Worn jewellery - the right-click destinations on a glory, a ring of wealth and the rest teleport you again.
- Item stats - the rev weapons and their charged forms, the Wilderness emblems and the Soulreaper axe line all carry their proper numbers.
Interface and quality of life
- The Teleports window - a band across the top carries three buttons: your Slayer task and where it goes, Home, and Previous naming its destination. A LIVE button takes the heading while a world boss or a hitpoints event is up, and a boss row now shows its three most valuable drops under the preview.
- Who's online - ::players, ::online and ::staff open one screen: All, Staff, Players and Donators tabs, a search box that finds Zezima from "zzm", and the picked player's rank, tier, levels and time played beside Add friend. ::staff opens the Staff tab.
- The Bestiary - each of the eleven cave revenants has its own page, with every rate worked out per kill at its own combat level. Both cave rows in ::teles point View drops at it.
- ::help - any player can call for staff. Everyone on staff who is online gets the line, and it reaches us another way when none of them is.
- Staff requests - staff can ask for a stuck player to be sent home or a player to be jailed, and a senior rank decides it.
- The looting bag - Check works again from anywhere, and at a bank you can View the bag and deposit out of it item by item.
- The magic tab - the lit spells agree with what the server actually casts. Blighted sacks light the spells they pay for, combination runes count for each element they carry, elemental staves are read off your weapon, and Bones to Peaches and Teleport to Target stop drawing locked. Five spells' rune bills were wrong and Weaken could not be cast at all.
- Spell and prayer filtering - right-click the magic or prayer stone for Disable and Enable, as OSRS has it.
- The Blood maledictus - the rack, the World Bosses screen and ::revboss all name the Revenant Caves and the part of them it rose in, and ::revboss tells you to take the entrance beside you. It said "the Wilderness" and set you down in silence.
- Bounty Hunter - the no-target line is said once when the search starts and then every five minutes, rather than every twenty seconds.
- Loot broadcasts - go to chat only, not also above the chatbox.
- XP drops - the customisable XP drops plugin is bundled in the client, off by default, and the server tells it your account's own rate.
- An update countdown - you can still log in until its last 30 seconds, a restart gives ten minutes' notice, and ::update replaces a countdown already running.

Client and performance
- A held Option or Alt no longer locks typing - on macOS a hotkey pressed while Option was down could leave the chatbox eating every key until the window lost focus. A remapped key could also be left untypeable for the rest of the session, and an Alt-Tab left the ground item highlight on.
- Restart now - on an older installer the button relaunched the same out-of-date client, so the server refused it again and the button looped. It reopens the installed app now, which fetches the new build.
- Stone buttons - a wide button repeats its art along the edges instead of stretching one strip across the whole thing.
- The world map - each square blends into its eight neighbours, so the hard seam at every square border is gone.
Fixes
- The password screen - the box took no typing at all and every letter went to the chatbox.
- The collection log and the skill guide - opened cut off or in the corner in the resizable layouts. Both are proper draggable windows now.
- Screens opened on their own - no longer open underneath the resizable chatbox.
- A collapsed chat - can be reopened in resizable. A click on the tab set it back and then a moment later collapsed it again.
- The side panel in resizable classic - a click on the tab already open closes the panel, as it does in modern.
- Ground piles - rebuilding the scene drew a second copy of every pile still on the floor, and a despawn then cleared only one of them. Revenant ether and noted food showed it most.
- Long passwords - an account whose password ran over 15 characters was refused by the new client. It logs in again.
- Blood skilling kits - the blood prospector, lumberjack and angler kits draw when you wear them.
- Legendary skin tones - the unlockable tones are OSRS's own six; the eight the perk used to name did not exist in the client.
- The account type window - no longer vanishes when you switch layout, which used to leave a new account's welcome, starter kit and guide owed with nothing on screen to claim them.
- The character designer and the tour - come back on the new frame after a layout switch instead of leaving you rooted with nothing to click.
- Standard teleports - play OSRS's own animation and nothing else.
